Special Education Needs (SEN) Support Service
The Curriculum Development Unit in consultation with principals and the CDVEC Psychological Service have planned and implemented a programme of SEN support for teachers in CDVEC schools, colleges and centres.
SEN Inservice was offered to teachers, Principals and Special Educational Needs Organisers (SENOs) in the following areas:
- Introductory SEN Topics and classroom management
- Supporting literacy across the curriculum
- The Special Educational Needs Act 2004 - Drawing up Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs)
Other SEN support included delivery of a Trinity College Postgraduate Diploma module on 'Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties'.
